F&K Estimatings

Editorial & Technical Guidelines

At F&K Estimatings, our preconstruction and cost estimation outputs are governed by strict technical auditing protocols. We maintain absolute objectivity, transparency, and precision in all cost models, reports, and informational articles published on our domain.

1. Technical Accuracy & CPE Peer-Review

Every estimate we produce undergoes a strict peer-review audit. Before delivery, all takeoff metrics must be submitted to our Lead Cost Engineer, Waqas Malik, CPE, who reviews the work of junior cost analysts. We verify that all material piece-counts, linear runs, and labor calculations align with the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) standards.

2. Database Integrity & Calibration

We calibrate our pricing indexes monthly using localized RSMeans Online databases. Our estimators do not rely on high-level national averages. Instead, we apply ZIP-code specific multipliers that reflect active county subcontractor wages, regional taxes, and local supply chain surcharges.

3. Code & Regulatory Compliance

Our estimators cross-examine architectural drawings with localized building regulations, including CA Title 24 energy mandates, seismic Zones D-F structural bracing requirements, Florida Building Code (FBC) hurricane specs, and Wicks Law public works standards in New York. We ensure that these critical compliance materials and inspection labor are fully accounted for.

4. Correction & Revision Policy

Preconstruction is dynamic. If a client identifies a discrepancy in our quantities based on details provided in the initial project blueprints, F&K Estimatings provides an immediate revision within 12 hours at no additional charge. We stand behind the math in all our preconstruction packages.

5. Plagiarism & Generative Content Policy

F&K Estimatings maintains zero tolerance for unverified automated content. All technical guides, case studies, and blog posts are authored by certified estimators with real-world field experience. We do not publish generic AI-generated advice. Every article must be reviewed and signed off by a CPE to ensure it is constructability-accurate and safe.

6. Multi-Layered QA Hierarchy

Our internal protocol uses a five-stage verification hierarchy:

  1. Drawing Intake & Audit: Verification of scale and drawing revisions.
  2. Quantity Tracing: Vector-based digitizing in PlanSwift and Bluebeam.
  3. ZIP-Code Cost Calibration: Adjusting for local labor rates and material indexes.
  4. CPE Audit & Reconciliation: Re-checking calculations for discrepancies.
  5. Executive Delivery: Packaging bank-ready Excel files and colored markup PDFs.
